Nothing Compares 2U - Sinéad O'Connor

Como ayer colgué la versión original e inédita de Prince, hoy posteo la canción que todos conocemos y que demuestra varias cosas: una de ellas, es que un artista puede hacer propio un tema ajeno, porque aquí la voz de Sinead O´Connor es un verdadero lamento (el vídeo también ayuda) y también un derroche de sensibilidad y excelente fraseo. 

Otra cosa que queda demostrada es que un buen arreglista puede cambiar un tema y dar un aire bastante diferente a la versión original; en este caso, básicamente eliminando elementos del "barroquismo pop" de Prince.

Cuando se empezó a escuchar esta canción en las emisoras de radio, yo era un adolescente y recuerdo que se oía por todas partes, a todas horas...También contribuyó la Mtv a su difusión.  

 

Sinead pasó a ser una estrella y se cuenta que Prince estaba algo dolido por el éxito de esta canción cantada por la irlandesa y que su versión pasara sin pena ni gloria en el álbum The Family del proyecto paralelo de Prince del mismo nombre.

A Glorious Dawn - Carl Sagan ft Stephen Hawking (Symphony of Science)

El Artista John D. Boswell también conocido como melodysheep, publicó este tema en 2009 consistente en musicar de forma bastante ingeniosa frases usadas por Carl Sagan y Stephen Hawking en los documentales Cosmos y El universo de Stephen Hawking.

Fue la primera pieza de Symphony of Science, una serie de composiciones que usaban frases creadas por los más insignes astronómos y científicos:

Buena parte de la aristocracia del rock se juntó para crear esta versión del legendario tema de Deep Purple con la intención de recaudar fondos para ayudar a la gente afectada por el terremoto ocurrido en Armenia en 1988.

Según parece, Grappelli se encontraba en un estudio cercano y al pasar por allí saludó y algún componente del grupo le propuso tocar algo.

Una toma alternativa del inmortal tema Wish You Were Here de Pink Floyd interpretado al violín por el genial y virtuoso Stephane Grappelli fue grabada en 1975, y se pensaba que la toma ya no existía, que por despiste habían grabado sobre ella. Afortunadamente, para alegría de tantos y tantos de nosotros y para la música en general, se descubrió que la versión no había sido borrada, qe se había salvado. Fue publicada en 2012 en Pink Floyd: Reissue Project

Creo que esa fue la joya de la corona en particular", dice Mason. "Supuse que se había perdido para siempre. Pensé que habíamos grabado sobre ella. Es maravilloso que todavía exista."
