Los que vivimos este momento aún recordamos la polémica que se montó cuando la diva americana mostró en uno de sus vídeos a un santo de origen afroamericano que termina cobrando vida. Menudo cristo montó (lo siento).
La artista llamada Madonna, además de tener buen ojo para elegir a sus colaboradores también supo crear algunas de las polémicas más llamativas de los 80 y 90, ya fuera con las letras de sus canciones o con asuntos extramusicales: Vogue que era un baile que se practicaba en algunos garitos de ambiente en Nueva York y lo incorporó a su vídeo; el famoso corpiño diseñado por Jean Paul Gaultier; el libro Sex en el que se mostraba sexo explícito; los besos con Britney Spears y Christina Aguilera...
En este caso se argumentó que la representación era la de una obra de teatro que se mostraba en el vídeo, no era un santo real, así que tocaron las narices pero no tanto a la parte más conservadora de la población norteamericana.
Hoy en día no creo que se armara ningún revuelo con un vídeo así. Lo digo para los que dicen que antes había más libertad.
