Christine McVie

Me acabo de enterar del fallecimiento de Christine McVie, pilar indiscutible en la transición que hizo Fleetwood Mac del blues/rock al pop. O de las islas británicas a Estados Unidos. 

Algunos de los más grandes éxitos del grupo británico/americano fueron compuestos por ella, que en algunas ocasiones también los cantaba. Entre sus muchas canciones que me gustan, me quedo con esta.

Man of the World - Fleetwood Mac

Este tema fue compuesto en 1969 por Peter Green, fundador y líder de los primigenios Fleetwood Mac, uno de los grupos británicos que formaron parte de aquello que se llamó British Blues pues tomaron el blues americano como referente y lo popularizaron con bastante aceptación. 

Se podría decir que son los orígenes del rock tal y como lo conocemos, música en la que la guitarra eléctrica tiene un protagonismo absoluto.

Algunos grupos/músicos que formaron parte de aquello son: The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Jeff Beck y, sobre todo, John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers y The Yardbirds, bandas en las que militaron buena parte de los músicos del movimiento: Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton (en ambas), Peter Green, Jeff Beck, Jack Bruce, Mick Taylor, etc.
